Catechists (Religion Teachers)

The Catechist is a person of faith who leads others in understanding the faith teachings according to the official teachings of the Church, the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

The first goal of a catechist is to model God's love to others, so a primary requisite of a catechist is a love for God and a love for children.

A Catechist’s job is to help each child to deepen the faith and spirituality that they received at baptism.  The catechist passes on a shared set of meanings and values, that are Catholic and Christian, to each student and extends the experience to lifelong growth in faith.

St. Angela's has a wonderful group of dedicated catechists and substitute catechists who help to share their faith with the children in our Parish School of Religion. PSR is open to children in grades 1-8 and meets on Mondays either from 4:00-5:00 p.m. or 7:00-8:00 p.m. For more information, contact Ms. Kathy Lynch in the Religious Education office at (440) 333-2133.
