FIAT 2018 Weekend of Service

FIAT3.jpg

What is FIAT?

Latin for Mary's "yes" to God, FIAT is St. Angela's way of saying "yes" to God's call to serve those in need. This parish-wide weekend of service brings together hundreds of parishioners serving the community in many ways. Opportunities to serve are offered throughout Cleveland, Fairview Park, and right at St. Angela.

When is FIAT?

FIAT 2018 will be held the weekend of Friday, November 30th to Sunday, December 2nd.

How do I get involved?

The first step is to visit the sign-up page and register. Sign-ups are on a first-come, first-served basis and will be open from November 4th to November 14th. Once you are registered, additional activity information and coordination will be communicated to you.

Questions?

Please contact Matt at fiatSAMFairview@gmail.com (585) 794-0400 with any questions!

Special and Unscheduled Activities:

These activities can be done in addition to regular FIAT service opportunities. To sign up for these activities, click on Thursday on the sign-up page. They are listed on Thursday only for the sake of signing up.

Bakers; Cookie Making!

If you wouldn’t mind baking a few dozen cookies for FIAT, or sharing Christmas cookies you’ve already made, we need bakers! We bring cookies to many of the FIAT activities and our Cookie Walk, a special parish event to support FIAT where we sell cookies to support FIAT, is returning this year! Cookies can be made prior to the weekend. See upcoming bulletin announcements for more details on the Cookie Walk.

Are you crafty? Blankets and other handmade items needed.

St. Angela Merici supports groups that help babies and families in need. These organizations will gladly take blankets such as fleece tie blankets (that require no sewing), quilts, or crocheted baby afghans (approximately 36” x 40” for the size). They also would also be grateful for baby gowns or infant pajamas; sizes ranging for babies up to 24 months. Items can be made prior to the weekend; further pickup/delivery coordination will occur after sign-ups are complete.

Giving Tree Help

Saint Angela's annual Giving Tree will be collecting gifts the same weekend as FIAT. We need assistance in wrapping, delivering gifts, and being available to be at the church when organizations arrive to pick up gifts. Deliveries are located throughout Cleveland. More information about times and locations will follow if you are available for any of these services.
