The mission of St. Angela Merici Parish School is to promote a safe environment where students achieve the highest standards of academic excellence and to live our Roman Catholic faith in service to others.
- We believe that each student is a unique individual and should be provided the opportunity to grow in his/her Catholic faith, to develop a greater love for God through prayer and to reflect Catholic values through service to others.
- We believe that curriculum, instruction and assessment practices should address a variety of learning styles and incorporate innovative activities to accommodate every unique learner.
- We believe that stakeholders share responsibility for advancing the school mission and the goals and needs of all involved must be taken into consideration to achieve continuous improvement in students’ faith formation and learning.
- We believe that each student’s spiritual, social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs must be addressed to enable him or her to become confident, self-directed lifelong learners.
- We believe that a safe environment which incorporates mutual respect among students, staff and parents promotes optimal student learning and growth.
- We believe that students should have the opportunity to learn lived Catholic values through the modeling of parents and school staff.

Registration
Re-registration for current students for the upcoming school year is conducted in early spring. Forms are sent to parents through our Family Mail Service. There is no fee for re-registration of current students. Students who are currently enrolled in the school are automatically accepted for the following school year unless removed for cause or for the family’s failure to meet tuition responsibilities.
New Student Admission
The following are the guidelines and criteria used to admit new students to the school:
- Preference is given to registered parishioners of St. Angela Merici Parish with children already in attendance in the School.
- Next, preference is given to families who reside within the geographic boundaries of the parish, who are active parishioners, and who are financially supportive of the parish.
- Next, non-parishioners and non-Catholics are admitted on a space available basis only.
- Parents must provide a copy of the child's birth certificate, baptism certificate, immunization records, and court custody documents (if applicable).
- The final decision to determine who is admitted to St. Angela Merici School is made by the Pastor, in collaboration with the Principal.
- No child is refused admission because of race, creed, or national origin.
Consideration is given to children of non-parish families who join St. Angela Merici Parish with the following understanding:
- Permission must be granted from the Pastor of the church of record to move to St. Angela Merici Parish. This letter must be addressed to the Pastor of St. Angela Merici Parish.
- The new members must become active parishioners who are financially supportive of St. Angela Merici Parish, and registered at St. Angela Merici Parish.
- All non-parishioners, including those who are not Catholic, are placed on a waiting list until after April 15th of the current school year. This waiting list ensures that all active parishioners can be accommodated in our school for the upcoming academic year.
Kindergarten Admissions
For Kindergarten students, children must be five years of age by September 30th. Kindergarten registration is based on available space based on the general admissions guidelines and are accepted on a first-come first-serve basis. All students registering for kindergarten are required to participate in kindergarten screening, Early Prevention of School Failure, which is administered in the spring. If a student has attended kindergarten in another school, with a recommendation of promotion, the principal makes the final determination of his or her placement. There is a $75.00 charge for Kindergartners which includes the registration fee and screening fee.
Admissions of Transfer Students (Grades 1-8)
For transfer students in grades 1 - 8, registration at St. Angela Merici School is confirmed only after all academic, behavior/discipline, standardized testing, special services including evaluations and health records are received and reviewed by the school administration. New students in Grades 1-8 are admitted conditionally for the duration of the first semester and must transfer from an accredited school. Admittance of new students in Grades 1-8 is based on careful evaluation and assessment of academic performance, effort, conduct, behavior/discipline and attendance records. There is a $40.00 new student registration fee for students entering Grades 1-8.
